The advantage of the Add-On GPS over external GPS units is that all status information and settings changes are made through the PF3000 interface and are displayed on the PF3000 screen. This allows the PF3000 to be utilized to its fullest potential with powerful features such as navigation and gridding for soil sampling. All of the functions performed by the original GPS2000/2100 and more can be performed by the PF3000 with Add-On GPS.

An industry exclusive feature of the Add-On GPS, Models 3000/3100 is the ability to output a speed signal that simulates the output of a radar gun. This allows the user to provide speed to any device that accepts a radar gun speed input. This eliminates the need to use a radar gun with most equipment.
